I’m a member of the Sustainable food group and Transition Town Wellington. We have 9 community spaces that I’m involved in the maintenance and setting up of, including mixes fruit and nut trees, bushes and herbs.
I am a:
Home Grower, Involved in a Community Project
Skills I am seeking:
People to join the group, either as a volunteer helper in the gardening sessions, or to help run or set up projects. TTW do a wide range of projects including social media, a repair cafe and a wildlife group, and could do so much more if we had more volunteers, we are only limited by lack of help, so if anyone can spend any of their free time with us, it’d be much appreciated.
Skills I can offer:
I run talks and practical sessions about gardening. I know a fair amount about wildflowers and growing veg and permaculture.
Tools & Resources I am seeking:
Resources; more volunteers! Grants. People to help with repairs and marshalling at the repair cafe. Help with website and social media. Time to help with community gardening; weeding, pruning etc.
Tools & Resources I can offer:
ttw.org.uk has lots of resources and information including tips on how to live sustainably and detailed notes on how to grow veg, and lots of seasonal recipes! Our community gardens are a source of free food for local residents.
