Event Description

Somerset Biodiversity Partnership and Somerset Environmental Records Centre are again hosting a joint Biodiversity Event.

The event will take place on Saturday 15 June from approx 10.00 am to 4.30 pm at Cheddar First School, Hillfield, Cheddar, BS27 3HN.

A map and directions are available at http://www.bing.com/maps/?lvl=15&where1=BS273HN,%20UK&cp=51.2780196665645~-2.78273982420581&FORM=MMREDR. There is parking available at the school and in nearby roads but we would encourage car-sharing where possible.

The theme will be ‘the Future of Nature’ and topics will include future planning and the importance of landscape scale conservation, attracting ‘young blood’ and encouraging community involvement.

In the morning there will be a range of speakers from specialist / neighbourhood groups and relevant organisations. We will also be having the ‘5 minute slots’ again - where audience members can provide brief updates on their projects. After lunch and a short group work session there will be a guided walk around some of Cheddar’s green spaces.

A more detailed programme will be sent in the near future, but please book your place now by replying to this email and then completing the booking form below before sending. Please respond by 12 June. The event is free and a buffet lunch and all refreshments will be provided (although donations would be gratefully received). There will be some space available for displays.
