Event Description

The Community Farm is an impressive new CSA South of Bristol providing vegetable boxes for members. They have set up an IPS which raised £120,000 in community shares to buy a box scheme and they produce vegetables on 22 acres.

Who should come?
The day is for a small group of people actively working on trading or developing CSAs, with a maximum of 2 places per project.

Amongst us will be a group of visitors from Czech Republic, Slovakia, Greece and Hungary who are learning about CSAs in order to introduce the concept in their countries.

Programme
We will spend an afternoon at the Community Farm. We will exchange information about our own projects, with time for discussion. Lunch will be provided. There will be a tour of the vegetable fields with the grower and a case study from the Community Farm. Jade Bashford from the Soil Association will give an informal introduction to community finance for CSA. There will be time for questions and discussion.

Facilities at the farm are basic and we will be doing the farm tour whatever the weather, so please come suitably dressed. The only shelter at the site is a small canvas tent. There is no kettle so please bring a flask if you would like a hot drink. The day will be informal.

The event is free but there are limited places and booking is essential. To request a booking form please contact jbashford@soilassociation.org
